11. Dale Court Raingarden

Theme: Water quality

Objectives:

  • Reduce the frequency and severity of pollution
  • Increase surface water management at source

Project description

A raingarden designed to take roof run-off from Dale Court slowing the rate at which it would enter the drainage system

Surface water flooding occurs when our drainage network is unable to cope with heavy rainfall.

A raingarden at Dale Court would slow the rate at which rainwater would enter the drainage network.  This could prevent instances of flash flooding in the area in periods of heavy rainfall.

It could also improve water quality of the Moselle River, by slowing the rate at which water enters the drainage network could prevent the frequency and severity of combined sewage overflows.
